This Ain't No Picnic

Hey mister don't look down on me
(for what I believe in-
I got my bills and the rent)
I should go pitch a tent
but our land is not free
so I'll work my youth away
in the place of a machine

i refuse to be a slave

The voices in your head are calling
Stop wasting your time, there's nothing coming
Only a fool would think someone could save you
The men at the factory are old and cunning
You don't owe nothing, so boy get runnin'
It's the best years of your life they want to steal

But, you grow up and you calm down and
You're working for the clampdown
You start wearing the blue and brown and
You're working for the clampdown
So you got someone to boss around
It makes you feel big now
You drift until you brutalize
You made your first kill now

Piss Factory

Sixteen and time to pay off
I got this job in a piss factory inspecting pipe
Forty hours thirty-six dollars a week
But it's a paycheck, Jack.

Eddie and the Hot Rods Inspire Young Man to Quit Factory Job

From the comments:

When I was a young man working in a factory in a Northen Engish town, I heard this song and decided one day to walk out of that shit hole and be free. I never regretted it once.

There is nothing good about grinding out a living in a mind numbing job for a bunch of rats who get super rich off your efforts without so much as a million pound bonus even once a century never mind every fucking year. Fuck capitalism, Fuck the rich and fuck all the stupid cunts who say there is no other option.

worst of 2010

losing Natalie Cox to cancer…everything after that seems somewhat trivial...I know the death of a friend is not worse than a global disaster, but a personal loss can't be quantified...needless to say, some of this stuff really sucks and some of it was just annoying:

getting depressed (see above)
Erick Lyle getting his unfinished book stolen from a bookstore in Olympia
fighting with friends & strangers on the internet
pay parking in downtown Olympia
terrible summer blockbusters (new Twilight movie was so bad)
Best Coast doing a record for a chainstore, blech…
Helen Thomas resignation from The White House Press Corp
missing DOA at the 4th AVE
gluten in every food
gluten free bread
no gluten free bread available

no pizza
no more pie at The Reef
L Word (I got obsessed with it and then hated it)

7 Year Old Aiyana Jones killed by the Detroit Police Department
Arizona 1070

selfish dudes

Alex Chilton RIP
Storeman's Boycott (so sick of not being able to buy groceries downtown)
